Lake Ainslie Weavers Guild Inverness County Tartan Contest

The Lake Ainslie Weavers and Craft Guild is hosting a contest that will result in the creation of an Inverness County tartan. The design competition will earn the winner a $1000 prize.

Entry applications, including a $25 entry fee, should be submitted to the Lake Ainslie Weaver's Guild.

The woven submission must be a twill throw, approximately 43 inches by 62 inches, accompanied by a poem and/or explanation of colour and set choices. The deadline for submitting the actual entry itself is September 15th. The winning design should be an original tartan reflecting the culture and history of Inverness County, its people and natural resources. Judges will make their decision considering originality, colour choices and craftsmanship.

All entries will be displayed after judging until October 15th at the Inverness County Council of the Arts building in Inverness, where the winner will be announced, and later at the Scotsville School of Craft .The winning entry becomes the property of the Lake Ainslie Weavers and Craft Guild and the County of Inverness. All other entries will be returned by October 18th.
